Additionally each country or state may have different legislation affecting the type of installations that may be implemented, they are usually designed to reduce any possible risk to the occupants of the vehicle and must be seriously considered during the design stage.
It is important to ensure that the design and cabling does not interfere with the layout of the vehicle as this environment is effectively the field workers office.

In-dash mounting
Tough Corp have designed in-dash mounting systems for our rugged Laptops and rugged Tablets that limit the impact on the vehicles surrounds.
The in In-dash mounting solution utilises the existing mounting infrastructure within the dashboard or consol structure. This provides a safe and tidy solution that can be customised to many vehicles. This solutions depends on the type of rugged laptop or table selected but doesn't damage the vehicle, keeps the floor space clear, is easy to install and convenient to use.
Pole mounting
Fixed pole mounts with swivel joints can be designed allowing the rugged laptop or tablet to be located in the front seat for use from either the passenger or driver positions. Some of the features incorporated in this design include rubberised posts and concealed cabling.
Boot tray mounts
Tough Corp have designed various boot mounts enabling the cabin area clear of equipment. This solution also provides easy access and quick docking of rugged laptops, GPS, 3G, radio equipment or any custom requirement.
Split Systems
A split system vehicle install is made up of two components
- Rugged laptop or computer mounted in the rear or boot of the vehicle. Tough Corp have various mounts to cater for different mounting locations within the vehicle.
- Secondary touch screen either pole mounted or dash mounted, the screen sizes can vary depending on the application but typically range from 7” - 12”.
Trucks/vans
Tough Corp have designed vehicle mounting solutions for a wide range of road vehicles including vans, trucks and heavy vehicles.

Tough Corp have extensive experience in the design of systems designed to operate in the environments encountered during operation activities, this includes catering for vibration, emissions, cabling, MIL connectors, interfacing to radios and other equipment, and unique power requirements.
